Film-makers of the 21st Century (Part I): David Fincher

Film-makers of the 21st Century (Part I): David Fincher

Film-makers of the 21st Century (Part I): David Fincher

The UGR’s Cinema Club will run a film series dedicated to David Fincher's works during the month of February, screening 7 of the director’s films in the Aula Magna lecture theatre in the Faculty of Sciences. Fincher has earned his place as one of the most important film-makers of the past two decades, creating some of the classics of our times such as Seven, Fight Club, The Social Network, and Gone Girl.

The series will open with the screening of Seven, one of the most engrossing films of the 1990’s and one which would herald a “before” and “after” within the thriller genre. The script, by Andrew Kevin Walker, is also exceptionally well-written, depicting a dehumanized, almost fiendish society. The Director of the UGR's Cinema Club, Juan de Dios Salas, will also run a seminar entitled 'Captivated by Cinema: David Fincher' on the 17th February, exploring and examining Fincher's works in detail.
