Silent film screening

The University of Granada will hold a screening of the silent film City Lights, the acclaimed romantic comedy written by, directed by, and starring Charlie Chaplan, on the 3rd June 2016. City Lights depicts the exploits and misadventures of The Tramp — Chaplin’s most memorable and iconic character — as he falls in love with a blind woman and strikes up a tumultuous friendship with an alcoholic millionaire.

The screening, which will be accompanied by a live music performance by Javier Sanchís on violin and Juan Manuel Romero on piano, promises to be a great opportunity to experience a classic silent film in all of its glory, while generating interest in the revival of this art form.
