About the Spanish Biophysical Society

The Spanish Biophysical Society (Sociedad de Biofísica de España, SBE) was founded in 1986. Its main objective is to put biophysicists working in Spain in contact with the international biophysics community and encourage collaboration both nationally and internationally in the field of biophysics. In order to achieve this objective, the SBE organize an international scientific meeting every year, providing young members with funding so they can attend the congress. The SBE is a member of the European Biophysical Societies Association and the Latin-American Federation of Biophysical Societies, thereby supporting the dissemination of Biophysics throughout the two continents. The SBE also works closely with the Spanish Committee for Biophysics, chaired by José López Carrascosa and linked to the International Union of Pure and Applied Biophysics.

The 15th Annual Congress of the Spanish Biophysical Society

The 15th Annual Congress of the Spanish Biophysical Society will be held from the 10-12 June at the University of Granada’s Faculty of Sciences. The congress will be structured in parallel symposiums with several plenary sessions and will be conducted by scientists who are outstanding in their respective areas. The programme, which has been carefully designed to encourage debate and enriching discussions, encompasses a wide range of topics up for discussion, providing participants with diverse and extensive perspectives on novel developments in this exciting and rapidly evolving field.

Programme structure overview

  • Symposium S1: Supramolecular complexes.
  • Symposium S2: Cell and tissue biophysics.
  • Symposium S3: Protein folding, misfolding and stability.
  • Symposium S4: Lipid and membrane biophysics.
  • Symposium S5: Protein structure, dynamics and function.
  • Symposium S6: Receptors, channels and transporters.
  • Symposium S7: Biophysics of nucleic acids.
  • Symposium S8: Biocolloids and biointerfaces.
