The International Festival of Language, Culture and Leisure 2016 (FLECOS or Festival Internacional de la Lengua, Cultura y Ocio) will take place in Granada from 1st-3rd April 2016. The goal of FLECOS is to promote the teaching and learning of the Spanish language throughout the world, with a strong emphasis on the strategic role of the language as a medium for creativity and for cultural and knowledge exchanges.

The Festival has been organized by the Association FLECOS, a dynamic and creative group of Spanish language schools in Granada, the Granada Conference Centre (Palacio de Congresos) and diverse institutions working to promote culture and tourism.

FLECOS also aims to consolidate and improve Granada's privileged status as a key city for the learning and teaching of the Spanish language. This year the special guest country will be the United Kingdom and the Festival will host world-class academics and renowned professionals and Hispanists, offering a varied and exciting programme.

A further key objective of the Festival is to encourage innovative proposals and develop pioneering initiatives in the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
