II National Research Seminar: Challenges in the Cybersecurity Industry (15-17 June 2016)

Challenges in Cybersecurity

The II National Research Seminar 'Challenges in the Cybersecurity Industry' will be held at the University of Granada from 15-17 June 2016. The use of electronic devices that automatically connect to the internet is becoming increasingly common in our daily lives. From tools employed to automatically measure electricity, gas and water consumption, to those used for measuring pollution and street lighting — not to mention biometric devices such as pacemakers, glucometers and scales etc. — automatic devices are becoming an integral part of everyday life. However, while this new technological panorama is, on the whole, highly beneficial for society, it has also given rise to new types of fraud, scams and abuse.

2 key Challenges: (in line with Eleven Paths)

1. Securing the online identity of devices

2. The discovery phase in non-traditional environments

The main objectives of the seminar are:

1. To establish and explore general and common lines of interest from the perspective of the national cybersecurity industry.

2. To contribute innovative ideas and proposals within these areas of interests.

3. To establish a process of direct collaboration between centres and research groups with a view to specifying and developing pertinent solutions to key challenges in the sector.

Dates: 15-17 June 2016
