1st call for applications: Erasmus+ Joint Masters Degree in Colour in Science and Industry (COSI)

The European Higher Education Excellence Initiative meets worldwide colour markets.

We are pleased to announce that the call for applications for the Erasmus+ Joint Masters Degree “Colour in Science and Industry (COSI)” is now open. The programme begins in September 2015. This two year JMD (Joint Masters Degree) programme (120 ECTS) is interdisciplinary in nature, and enables students to become fully trained experts in sectors encompassing colour, spectral and digital imaging in applied science, and in application development and analysis. The main objective is to train students in advanced methodologies, applied models, and practical applications with a view to achieving two goals, firstly; to enhance their employment prospects, and secondly; to satisfy the demand for qualified professionals from this discipline in the industrial sector.

COSI is a joint programme involving the full participation of four European Higher Education Institutions; Jean Monnet University, the University of Granada (UGR- SP), the University of Eastern Finland (UEF–FI), Gjøvik University College (GUC–NO), five Associated Industrial Partners; Olympus Corporation (Japan), Specim (Finland), Tecnalia (Spain), Chromasens (Germany) and SoftColor Ltd (Finland); four higher education institutions in Asia as Associated Academic Partners; Monash University, Malaysia (MUM-Malaysia), Chulalongkorn University (CHULA -Thailand), Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT-Japan) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB -Indonesia); as well as ten supporting Ppartners.

Mobility:

You will have the chance to study in three different locations (France, Spain and depending on the study path chosen – Norway or Finland). Download the COSI masters curriculum

Scholarships & Erasmus+ JMD grants:

The JMD scholarship programme offers talented prospective students the unique opportunity to pursue COSI masters programme studies and up to €49,000 for the entire duration (24 months) of the programme. Click here for further information about scholarships

The deadline for the first round of applications is February 27th 2015. Scholars can also apply to take part in the COSI programme.

Degrees awarded:

Upon successful completion of the COSI JMD you will be awarded multiple masters degrees (issued by four European higher education institutions and fully recognized in each of the four countries involved).

Entry requirements:

Applicants must hold a bachelor of science (or any nationally recognized first cycle degree equivalent to 180 ECTS), preferably in the fields of mathematics, technology, engineering, computer science or physics (while all students must have obtained their degree at the time of enrolment, the COSI consortium accepts applications from students in the last year of their higher education degree).

Language requirements:

The tuition language is English. COSI students are expected to write a masters dissertation in English. A strong command of written and oral English is therefore required. Applicants must have a B2 level in the Common European Framework of Reference (this will be verified during the application process)
