The management of the University of Granada operates by means of several Governing Bodies which include the university's faculties, schools, departments and institutes, in addition to its general governing and representative bodies. All the aforementioned organisations are represented on the Governing Council.

The Rector acts as the University's representative and governs and manages it.

The Secretary's Office acts as the public notary for the agreements established between the Governing Bodies. It also assists the Rector with tasks related to organising university activities.

The Director's Office is responsible for directing the UGR's financial and administrative departments, and on behalf of the Rector, is authorised to manage the UGR's administrative and support staff. The Director is nominated and appointed by the Rector, in accordance with the Social Council.

The Vice-Rectors are situated in the category directly below the Rector and form part of the UGR Governing Council. The Vice-Rectors can represent the University on behalf of the Rector if required. Each Vice-Rector is in charge of managing, developing and coordinating a specific educational area.

The Delegates are also situated in a category directly below the Rector and form part of the University Governing Council. The Delegates can also represent the University on behalf of the Rector if required. Each Delegate is in charge of developing, managing, and coordinating specific strategic areas within the university.

The Governing Council is the collegiate management body of the University. Its mission is to establish the University's strategic lines, activities and programmes, as well as the guidelines and procedures for their application. Its role is to ensure that all the members of the University Community comply with their obligations and to facilitate the exercise of their legitimate rights.
