Description Pedagogy is the science and art of education and teaching. It not only focuses on the resources used in teaching but also on how they should be employed most effectively. Experts in pedagogy have all the necessary knowledge to teach effectively and apprehend the systems, institutions, contexts, resources and processes that are involved, making them excellent teachers.

Our Degree in Pedagogy prepares students for all the demands of professional teaching. The study plan of the degree is well balanced, as it includes a mix of theoretical contents as well as practical skill acquisition. Our graduates are ready to become professional teachers in the public or private system.

The Education Sciences Faculty is part of the Cartuja campus, one of the largest campuses of the University of Granada. Students on this degree will have a wealth of resources at their disposal: libraries, professional teachers always ready to help, computer rooms, meeting halls and internship programmes. Our teaching staff are dedicated and highly qualified, and always at your disposal.

This four-year Degree is comprised of four learning stages: basic training, core subjects, elective subjects and a compulsory internship programme in other education centres. Subjects in this degree include contents in areas like psychology, sociology, education anthropology, different teaching methods, education philosophy, education policies, education technology and pedagogy.

Our graduates are fully-fledged experts in pedagogy. They can also specialise in teaching children with special needs or carry out research in the field. Professionals in pedagogy are not only experts in teaching, but also in assessment, counselling, course design – essentially, in everything that leads to guiding children’s social, psychological and cognitive development.

Pedagogy is a science that allows us to think about how we educate our society. It is necessary to evaluate how and what we teach at any stage in the life of a person, and pedagogy is the key to ensuring that the discipline of education constantly evolves and improves.
