| Description | Industrial Relations is a multidisciplinary field that focuses on employment relations and conditions, while Human Resources examines the workforce of a company or organisation. The discipline of industrial relations encompasses core subject such as trade unionism, labour-management relations, collective bargaining, national and regional labour policy, and labour law. Human resources analyses the process of contracting and managing the people who make up an organisation or company, focusing on how to successfully ensure that the workforce and the managers of a company interact in a positive, fruitful way. This includes understanding all the complexities of these interactions, and their legal psychological, sociological and financial dimensions. Our degree prepares students to become professionals in this field, capable of understanding the complexities of the sector and the dynamic character of industrial relations. This will allow them to become competent professionals, able to overcome all of the challenges imposed by this demanding discipline. Our graduates are qualified to start working as professionals in any company they choose, with all the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to do their job properly. The Degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources of the University of Granada has a very balanced study plan, with plenty of theoretical and practical subjects to train the student in all the skills they will need to develop their career. Our teaching staff are highly qualified, with a wealth of resources at their disposal, and years of experience behind them. This four-year degree is comprised of three learning stages: basic, core and elective subjects. These include contents in knowledge areas such as statistics, economics, law, history, sociology, conflict management, labour law, auditing and staff training. Graduates in this degree are highly sought after in both the public and private sectors. Common positions include human resources managers in companies and organisations, labour health and safety technicians, employment agents, local development agents, and auditors. Many of our graduates also go on to teach and conduct research in the field. By becoming a competent professional in this field, you can go on to help solve many of the problems faced by individuals and companies all around the world in a more diplomatic and positive way. |
